Septimius Severus was born in Africa and sent to Rome to persue a public career. He ended up becoming Emperor, while he was visiting Roman Britain he fell ill and died, with his sons Geta and Caracalla being joint Emperors (which did not end well. Really, one of them murdered the other, far from "brotherly love").
