This vintage postcard has a photo of the Italian town Covigliaio, with some mountainous terrain rising up in the background.

On the back the message "Distuto seluti" (best regards) is written in ink, along with two other words or possibly a name, that I'm unable to read. The postcard is addressed to  "Signa G. Verseboyle" at 72 Westbourne Terrace, London. 

The date 4-8-39 is written on the bottom left, and the top right shows a postmark dated 5-8-39, it also has an Italian stamp. This postcard was sent in early August 1939, just a month later Britain would be at war and Italy would be on the opposite side. Did these two people ever see each other again? Did they manage to keep up an kind of correspondence during the war?
