This vintage postcard has a black and white photo of one of the famous chalk cliffs of Etretat. You can find a similar postcard for sale.

The town name is at the bottom of the image, with "Le Porte d'Amont, Mer Montante" underneath.

On the back written in ink is a message that is dated "28/8/08" and reads "Have not yet received letter, been twice to Poste Restante, here till Tuesday 3pm, return by Tuesday night boat Havre". The card is addressed to "Mr Ward, Messrs Morart (?), 91 New Bond Street, W London, Angleterre".

On the top right of the back is a red French 10 cent stamp. There are two postmarks but the one on the stamp shows the year "08".
